Kings Mills, OH I have several thousand dollars in Snap On and Mac tools, and no more room in my current box. Any advice is MUCH appreciated. They have the most efficient drawer configuration, more so than the Epiq that the guy next to me has. They tied with Epiq are also the deepest drawers front to back depth.
I have also had the toolbox hit with a unpiloted lb SUV in drive that pinned it to the wall, with only superficial damage to the drawer fronts that the bumper contacted with. Again, cosmetic damage only. These high end toolboxes are incredibly strong. I really believe in spending money on your tools before tool storage. An expensive toolbox will not make you able to more specialized work the way expensive tools will.
I ran a revolving array of multiple cheap smaller toolboxes for my first 7 years or so. I was at the point of wasting time everyday trying to deal with having too many tools in too little space. Mac from guys who have been there done that. The guys at work are divided, and of course the Snap On guy is going to say that his box is better.
Anybody owned both or noticed differences between the two? I am with Fopeano on this. You may think you have all the tools you need but, unless you currently are a A level tech you are going to be in for a rude awakening.
You are talking k in tools to have all the tools you need for that level and that does not count the wants or oh look its shiny. As for boxes it all depends on where you work and what environments you are in. Take a Big Rig mechanic we need a lot more room for the bigger sets not to mention if a truck hits a tool box the truck wins every time. Are you stationary if you work out of the same bay or the same 2 bays every day with no change then does it really matter the tool box is just going to sit there regardless.
If you are running back and forth across a 42 bay shop its a little different. As for rolling in there with a new box you are going to be looked at like an idiot not to mention the cost is going to last you years and you are still going to have student loans to pay. Why does a young tech with a big huge snap-on box raise eyebrows? Please explain? Just start with the roll cabinet and you can add the hutch or side later as you see fit.Source: Snap-on. Snap-on is among the leading brands of early American tool chests.
Founded inthe company specializes in toolboxes for auto mechanics.
This makes it possible for the professional or DIY weekend warrior to own every hand tool and keep them organized. Throughout the years, the brand name has remained strong with a reputation for durable products and great after-sale support.
They are not, however, known for being the most affordable in the market. They hold up better than most. The tools are made with premium materials and built to last.
Toolboxes that are frequently used result in multiple doors pulls. This causes wear and tear on any chest and with this in mind, Snap-On Toolboxes are designed to hold up under frequent door pulls, and in many cases, longer than other premium tool boxes similarly or lower priced. The Snap-On Tool Company has a rich history and has steadily built its reputation for providing high quality, American made automotive tools and accessories for nearly years.
Snap-On Tools is an automotive tool manufacturing company established in in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They manufactured a set of 10 sockets that snapped on to five interchangeable handles. The company expanded during the post World War II era. Company dealers hired became independent businessmen and authorized dealers of the Snap-On Tools line, establishing driving routes using large walk-in vans to house the inventory of an expanding product line.
Visits were paid to mechanics and automotive professionals on sales routes. Snap-On Tools became a large operation with workers at the Milwaukee plant joining the Teamsters labor union. Plants were established in Tennessee and North Carolina. The main headquarters was based out of Kenosha Wisconsin, manufacturing American made automotive tools and accessories.
President Donald Trump toured the Kenosha, Wisconsin plant in April ofguaranteeing additional government contracts for companies keeping their workforce in America.Snap-on is an American company that has been producing quality tools since Originally dismissed by mainstream tool distributors, the company began using independent salespeople, a tradition that continued.
The company also re-labeled Blue Point tools to supplement its line of available products. Given the popularity of Snap-on Tools, especially among mechanics, tools and tool boxes have become very collectible. While a cardboard box might work for a few miscellaneous hand tools and a cordless drill, once you get past that point you need something a little more rugged. Tools are heavy and take toll on any cardboard box it's really hard to organize them in something like that as well.
To meet this need for organization, manufacturers produce toolboxes in all shapes and sizes. They range from multi-pocket soft pouches hung over a five gallon bucket to huge multi-drawer, roll-around, tool chests big enough to need their own engine and steering wheel. Selecting your ultimate tool chest can be a whole lot more complicated than selecting the right tool for the job.
After all, there really aren't all that many choices for what tool you can use, while there are many for what kind of toolbox or tool chest. Our tool chest buyer's guide listed below can definitely can help you narrow it down. This monster is so big it should come with an engine and a steering wheel. It has a 6, pound capacity. While I really think this is a bit overdone for the average home workshop, if you want the best, this one would have to be it.
It even has a couple of deep drawers, which will work well for smaller hand-held power tools. This line has been created to compete head to head with them, as an equivalent.

This cabinet is a touch wider than the craftsman one, with 11 drawers as opposed to the 14 on the other unit. But the real difference is that the Craftsman unit is rated at 70 pounds per drawer, while this one is rated at 50 pounds per drawer.Movierulz ps
I have to admit that when I saw this roll-around tool chest, I fell in love with it. Machinists and fine woodworkers both use wood tool chests, rather than metal, in order to protect the sharp edges of their tools. A steel tool chest might nick a blade edge, causing the owner to have to resharpen it. That wasted time can be avoided by using a wood tool box. They are also excellent for storing instrumentation, such as dial calipers, micrometers and other measurement devices.
With felt-lined drawers to protect the tools. Other than being made of oak, rather than steel, this cabinet is essentially the same as any other roller cabinet. The 11 drawers are mounted on ball-bearing slides for smooth operation.
Six of them are half-width, intended for storing smaller tools. A locking wood panel covers the drawer fronts when the tool chest is not in use, and hangs on the back of the box when access is needed to the tools.Ever dreamed of being your own boss? Want control over your own future?
